The Christmas Bureau of Austin, Travis County is a non-profit accredited organization founded in 1964 for the purpose of offering compassionate assistance during the holidays for needy individuals, couples, families and children who apply for assistance through recognized community agencies in Austin, Travis County. The Christmas Bureau of Austin, Travis County "Adopt-A-Family" program appeals to the Austin, Travis County community to reach out and adopt a needy individual, couple, family and children and provide food, toys and gifts to help them celebrate the holidays. Our success is measured each year by the contributions given to us to facilitate our mission by our supporters (individuals, corporations, businesses, organizations, co-workers, schools and, service clubs). All of the funds raised locally each year are spent locally so it is a win-win for the community. Looking to the future, the Christmas Bureau recognizes the need to adapt to the community’s need by finding creative ways to support and strengthen our services in order to continue to reach out to our needy citizens.
